Pescasseroli, heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, will host the International Bear Association Conference in one of Europe’s most significant protected areas for brown bear conservation.

Participants may choose from a range of accommodation options located in Pescasseroli, Opi, Villetta Barrea, Civitella Alfedena and Barrea — all within the Park area and a short travel distance from the conference venue. Options include hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and campings, offering comfort, authenticity and a strong connection with the natural and cultural heritage of the Apennines.

The Organizing Committee has arranged with selected local accommodations to guarantee special rates for conference delegates. All partner establishments are members of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS) of the National Park, and relies on CETS membership criteria as to environmental responsibility, support for local communities and sustainable tourism practices.

In order to benefit from the 10% discount rate reserved for conference participants, delegates will be required to provide proof of registration payment for the IBA Conference at the time of booking. The IBA cannot recommend any specidic lodging provider nor take any responsibility for the suitability, condition, or acts of any provider.

Given the limited accommodation capacity of these small mountain villages and the high tourist season, early booking is strongly recommended. Staying in this area means experiencing small mountain communities deeply connected to conservation values and to the long history of coexistence between humans and bears!

Please note that participants staying outside Pescasseroli are strongly advised to have their own car, as public transport connections between villages are limited.
