1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your registration, participation, and use of the IBA 2024 – 28th IBA Conference, organized by the International association for bear research and management (IBA), taking place in Alberta, Canada in 2024. By registering for the event, you agree to these Terms.

2. Registration & Payment

2.1. Attendees will register for the conference through the conference website, which will redirect them to a third-party registration system, Neon CRM/Neon Pay.

2.2. Registration fees are outlined in the ticket registration system. Tickets for field trips and excursions may also be available for purchase through the website at a later time.

3. Refund Policy

3.1. Full refunds are available until 10th June 2024.
3.2. 50% refunds are available until 10th July 2024.
3.3. No refunds will be provided after 10th July 2024.

4. User Content

Attendees will not have the opportunity to post content on the conference website. All content is curated by the conference organizing committee.

5. IBA Member Accounts

IBA members can access their profile via the Neon CRM system for account details and reduced registration fees. This system is external to the conference website and governed by Neon CRM’s terms and policies.

6. Release from Liability

As provided in the release from liability above, attendees and registrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless IBA and associated entities from claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses related to their participation in the event, except for cases arising from the sole negligence of IBA.

7. Prohibited Conduct

By agreeing to these Terms, attendees acknowledge the listed prohibited conducts. Violation of any of these may result in removal from the event, cancellation of registration, and/or a ban from future IBA events.

8. Third-Party Vendors

Vendors’ rights and agreements will be governed by local Alberta law, separate from this agreement.

9. Broadcasting Restrictions

There will be no sharing or broadcasting of event sessions.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Alberta, Canada.

11. Participation Requirements

11.1. Cost of Access: Registration provides access to the specific event for which an attendee has registered. All other associated costs are the responsibility of the attendee.

11.2. Use of Likeness: By participating, attendees grant IBA the right to use their likeness in any media without further approval or payment.

11.3. Event Content: IBA reserves the right to modify any aspect of the event, including name, themes, content, speakers, venue, and time.

12. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.

Attendees and users of the conference website are encouraged to review these Terms in detail. By registering for the IBA 2024 – 28th IBA Conference, attendees acknowledge they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
